Gabriel-Charles-Jules Frichot était né à Suresne (Hauts-de-Seine) le 6 janvier 1849 de l'union du pâtissier Jean-Louis Frichot et de Julienne Saulnier.
Il expose une nature morte au Salon de 1880, où il est admis dans la catégorie des non-exempts, c'est-à-dire de ceux qui n'ont pas encore obtenu de récompense notable qui les dispense de l'autorisation du jury pour exposer.
Il épouse à Paris, XVIIe arrondissement, le 30 janvier 1883, avec la qualité de propriétaire, Marie-Louise Bourdon, née à Neuilly-sur-Seine en 1853.
Il peint apparemment en 1886 les murs du chœur de l'église Saint-Martin de
Mondeville, en portant la signature latine traditionnelle des peintres,
Pinxit G. Frichot.
Il meurt chez lui à Paris le 5 février 1891, 1 rue Cabanis, âgé de 42 ans, sans avoir eu le temps d'accéder à la notoriété, ni même de laisser beaucoup de traces.
Il laisse un fils, René Frichot, né en 1884, qui sera dessinateur dans le civil puis dans le génie à partir de 1914 et enfin dans l'aviation, ainsi qu'une fille, Marie-Thérèse-Ernestine-Julienne Frichot, née en 1887, qui mourra dès 1909.
